What does the name "Diptyque" mean?

Two syllables like a whisper that conjures up the imagination and elsewhere. An homage to the two-panel paintings of the Renaissance, where the subjects engage in harmonious dialogue, and a nod to the Greek root of the word. More than just a name, it is also an echo of 34 boulevard Saint-Germain: two angled shop windows facing each other. 
Diptyque speaks of contrasts: the demand for know-how and the evanescence of fragrance, black & white versus colours, the oval that seals the two sides of the same bottle.
