The glass of my candle has blackened. What can I do?
Black marks can be removed, when the candle is extinguished, using a cloth soaked in hot soapy water. Be careful not to leave any moisture on the glass or wax before lighting your candle.
Here are some usage tips to help you avoid this inconvenience:
- Regularly trim the wick to 3 to 5 mm; this will allow the candle to burn longer and prevent the wick from producing smoke or falling blackened into the liquid wax.
- Make sure to re-center the wick in the wax after each use. This will allow for a more even consumption of the wax. It will also prevent the wick from getting too close to the glass, which could cause the candle to overheat.
