When was the first Diptyque candle created?
In 1963, the founders envisioned candles in the colours of their fabrics. Their wax maker suggested the idea of scenting them, a first innovation. The chosen fragrances were hawthorn, cinnamon and ... tea, a revolution in the world of perfumery. The trio celebrated the shop’s second anniversary with three candles, an embodiment of their art of living.
This was the beginning of a wide repertoire of more than fifty scents in all simplicity by enhancing raw materials.
