The glass of my candle has blackened. What can I do?
Black marks can be removed, when the candle is extinguished, using a cloth dampened with hot soapy water. Be careful not to leave any moisture on the glass or wax before lighting your candle.
Here are some usage tips to help you avoid this issue:
- Regularly trim the wick to 3 to 5 mm, as this will allow the candle to burn for longer and prevent the wick from producing smoke or falling, blackened, into the liquid wax.
- Make sure to recenter the wick in the wax after each use. This will allow the wax to burn more evenly. It will also help prevent the wick from getting too close to the glass, which could cause the candle to overheat.
