When was the first Diptyque candle created?
In 1963, the founders envisioned candles in the colors of their fabrics. Their wax maker suggested the idea of perfuming them, a first innovation. The chosen scents were hawthorn, cinnamon, and ... tea, a revolution in the world of perfumery. The trio celebrated the boutique’s second anniversary with three candles, embodying their art of living.
This was the beginning of a wide repertoire of more than fifty fragrances that pay tribute to nature in all simplicity by enhancing raw materials.
