What does the name "Diptyque" mean?

Two syllables like a whisper that conjures imagination and elsewhere. A tribute to the two-paneled paintings of the Renaissance, where subjects converse in harmony, and a nod to the Greek root of the word. More than a name, it is also an echo of 34 boulevard Saint-Germain: two angled windows facing each other. 

Diptyque speaks of contrasts: the demand for expertise and the evanescence of fragrance, black & white versus colours, the oval that seals the two sides of the same bottle.
