How should I clean a candle jar after use?
When 5 mm of wax remains or the metal wick tab is visible, it is time to give your candle a second life.
Step 1
After the last use, it is advisable to let the candle cool completely so that the wax solidifies and the glass returns to its normal temperature.
Step 2
To remove the wax:
- Place the candle in a heat-resistant bowl, which is itself placed in a sink
- Pour water at about 60°C up to halfway, taking care not to get any inside the candle
- Let it sit for two minutes before taking out the jar by holding it at the top
Step 3
The wax then easily detaches by sliding a rounded blade between the wax and the glass wall. The jar can then be hand washed with a non-abrasive sponge and La Droguerie dish soap or placed in the dishwasher.
