How should I clean a candle jar after use?
When there is 5 mm of wax left or the metal wick holder is visible, it’s time to give your candle a second life.
Step 1
After the last use, it is recommended to let the candle cool completely so that the wax solidifies and the glass returns to its normal temperature.
Step 2
To remove the wax:
- Place the candle in a heat-resistant bowl, placed in a sink
- Pour water at about 140°F up to halfway, making sure not to get any inside the candle
- Let it sit for two minutes before taking the jar out by holding it at the top
Step 3
The wax will then come off easily by sliding a rounded blade between the wax and the glass wall. The jar can then be hand-washed with a non-abrasive sponge and dish soap like La Droguerie dishwashing liquid or in the dishwasher.
