What should I do if black soot appears on the glass of my candle?
Black soot can easily be removed from the candle vessel with a wash cloth dampened with warm water and a small amount of dish soap.
Make sure the candle is extinguished and completely cool before cleaning. Allow the glass to fully dry before relighting the candle.
The black soot around the edge of the glass indicates that the wick may have been too long or too close to the glass, causing the flame to give off black smoke. This can happen when the wick is not trimmed or has accumulated excess debris.
